Our Company (NCL) was established in 1995 by four local shareholders,
with the intention of establishing a medium sized family orientated and
locally operated, homely care provider.

Care’s Principal Director is: Mr Philip Carey.
Philip initially joined the company in 1996 as “Company
Manager” and was subsequently appointed as a company
director in 1999.
Prior to working for NCL, and since leaving sixth form
college in 1986, Philip was employed as an Accountant
within a medium sized city center firm of Chartered
Accountants, gaining considerable experience and professional
qualifications in both Business Management & Management
Accountancy.

staff.

- Equipment – to proactively ensure that the
correct type of equipment is always available too
meet our Service Users need, correctly maintained
and our staff properly trained in the use thereof.

Springfield Gardens
(Formerly Known & Philadelphia House) was purpose
built in 1990 and acquired by NCL in 1995.
Since our acquisition of the home, we have dramatically
redesigned the internal layout in order to provide all
En-suite accommodation. This has been sympathetically
carried out in order to preserve the buildings substantial
character and following careful consultation with experts
from the City of Sunderland's Social Services departments
and our architects.
The internal layout of the Home has been specifically
designed and altered to provide easy access to all of
our service users, regardless of their individual mobility.
The home which is split on to two levels and is served
by a central lift, briefly comprises of 33 single en-suite
bedrooms, (18 of our bedrooms measuring in excess of
14.5 sq.m and 15 en-suite bedrooms measuring in excess
of 13 sq.m) in addition we also have two double 17.5
sq.m + En-suite rooms. Together with four luxurious
lounges and a dining room.
One of our lounges being specifically designated for
those who wish to smoke.
